Carl Fredrick Miller

August 16, 1939 — March 10, 2021

Carl Fredrick Miller

Carl passed away peacefully early Wednesday morning, March 10, 2021 at the age of 81 years. He was born on August 16, 1939 to the late Carl and Geraldine (Karbowski) Miller in Saginaw. Carl served in the United States Marine Corps for nearly four years. He married Nancy Hale/ Evon on June 10, 1978 in Saginaw.

Carl worked for Saginaw Malleable Iron for 25 years as a Core Setter. During his time there he earned the nickname “Moose” because the guys thought he had big hands. Carl was a taxidermist for 42 years, owning and operating his own business, Miller Taxidermy. Over the years, he trained three guys who now own and operate their own taxidermy businesses. Carl was a very creative person; he would often freehand paintings, drawings and murals. He loved to hunt, fish, bowl and put model boats, airplanes and trains together. Carl loved to work outside; his lawn was his pride and joy. Nobody could care for his yard quite like he could.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Nancy and their children: David Miller, Barbie (Brian) Wight and Steve (Angie) Miller, 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Gene Miller, a brother- in- law Robert Churchill and several nieces and nephews.

Carl was predeceased by his daughter Vicky and husband Ron Schlauger and his brother Gerald Miller.

A funeral service will take place at 11:00 am on Friday, March 12, 2021 at W.L. Case and Company (5700 Dixie Highway, Saginaw). Pastor Lou Jurva will officiate. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Military honors will be rendered under the auspices of VFW Post 7302 and the United States Marine Corps. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 am until the time of the service on Friday. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association or Sheridan Road Baptist Church. Due to the world wide health pandemic, building capacity will be limited, face coverings will be required and social distancing will be encouraged.

The family of Carl Miller would like to extend a special thank you to all of the nurses that provided care for Carl and Nancy and to Spaulding Township Fire Department for being so quick to help.
