Carl R. Bryan of Saginaw, Michigan
Beloved father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, November 1, 2021. He was 61 years old. Carl Roy Bryan was born on November 8, 1959, in Saginaw, Michigan, to Otis R. and Amelia (Pena) Bryan. He proudly served his country by enlisting in the United States Marine Corps at 17 years old, serving three years until his honorable discharge. Upon his return, Carl began working for Rifkin Scrap Iron & Metal Company. He was a gifted and talented artist, especially with sketching. He could draw anything, but especially enjoyed sketching Disney and Looney Toons characters. He will forever be remembered for his selflessness to all, his kind and loving heart, for his traveling the community on his Amigo.
Surviving are a son and two daughters: Nicolas Rico, Guadalupe Bryan, and Carly Ann (Robert) Leal; two grandchildren: Dillon and Elliott Leal; mother, Amelia Bryan of Saginaw; two sisters and a brother: Sandra Rottman of Saginaw; Bonnie (Val) Torres of Saginaw; Bruce (Lenora) Bryan of Bridgeport. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Otis R. Bryan.
A funeral service with military honors will take place at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 4, 2021, at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road under the auspices of the United States Marine Corps and American Legion Post# 439. Rev. William Hessler will officiate the funeral service. Private burial will take place on Monday at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathies may wish to consider memorials to Saginaw Toys for Tots or the Autism Society of Michigan.
