Carol Gatica

Carol Gatica, a devoted mother and pillar of strength, peacefully passed away in San Antonio, Texas, on Thursday, February 15, 2024. She was born in Saginaw, Michigan, on February 24, 1955, the daughter of the late Julio and Amparo (Samaniego) Gonzales.

Throughout her life, Carol exemplified the qualities of a loving mother and was a Proverbs 31 woman. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her immediate family to touch the lives of all who knew her. A proud graduate of Saginaw High School, Carol instilled the value of responsibility and a work ethic in her children and grandchildren. Whether she was thrifting with her siblings for hidden treasures or embarking on spontaneous road trips, Carol approached life with curiosity and enthusiasm.

Carol's memory will forever be cherished by her loving family. She is survived by her children: Ricardo Gonzales, Cruz Gatica, Margaret (Terry) Gatica-Wells, Catalina (James) Caldwell, Victoria (Tyran) Cogdell, Luciana Gatica, Rosa Gatica, Luciano Gatica; three step children; 15 grandchildren: Elijah, MacKenzie, Natacia, Alleana, Esperanza, Ricky Lee, Romey, Carlos, Alberto, ArMya, Aracely, Tyran Jr., Alano, Yuna, and Mar'Lonzo;  five step grandchildren and one great-grandchild is expected soon.

In addition to her children and grandchildren, Carol is remembered fondly by her Siblings: Mary Salinas, Julio (Jenie) Gonzales, Frances (Johnny) Allen, Frank Gonzales, Cruz (Rick) Lotz, Teresa Gonzales, Angie Gonzales, George Gonzales, and Kathy Gonzales, as well as numerous nieces and nephews who she prayed and wished the best for.

Carol was predeceased by her parents, Julio and Amparo Gonzales, siblings: Jose Gonzales, Guadalupe Cruz, Conchita Mendez, and Anthony Gonzales; and her Ex-Husband Richardo Gatica.

Carol's departure leaves a void in the hearts of many but also serves as a reminder of the profound impact she had during her time on earth. Her strength, compassion, forgiving, and unwavering faith will continue to inspire all those who were fortunate enough to have known this remarkable woman. May she rest in peace knowing that her legacy of love lives on in the hearts of those she left

behind.
