Carole Ann Moldenhauer (Pinkerton)

Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister passed away with family by her side on Friday, October 20, 2023, at Toni & Trish House in Auburn, Michigan, at the age of 86. Carole was born in Saginaw on July 1st, 1937, to the late C. Earl & Gladys (Brown) Pinkerton and was a 1955 graduate of Saginaw High School. It was in high school that Carole met Harold V. Moldenhauer, Jr., and the couple would marry on August 15th, 1959, spending more than 64 years of marriage together. He survives her. After high school, Carole continued her education by earning a bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University and taught in the Saginaw school system for a number of years before leaving the classroom to raise a family with Harold. After her children had grown, she volunteered at Covenant Healthcare for over 37 years. Fun and joyful at heart, Carole’s free time was spent with song and dance. She participated in dancing and exercise activities at the YMCA where she also occasionally taught dancing. She also loved traveling abroad with Harold. Many of her summers were occupied at the family’s cottage in East Tawas where she loved fishing, swimming, and spending time with her children and the grandchildren that she so cherished and who were the light of her life. Carole is remembered as being a caring, loving, and giving woman who was energetic and silly at times, but who was considerate and loyal above all else.

Carole is survived by husband Harold Moldenhauer, Jr.; children Debra (Thomas) Okray, Michael (Tammy) Moldenhauer, and Amy (James) Ward; grandchildren Kira (Ivan) Zepeda, Jeffery Okray, Ryan (Tiffany) Mack, Anthony (Mylee) Mack, and Scott Moldenhauer; six great grandchildren; and sister Norma Nisbet; as well as many nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.

Carole was preceded in death by sister Jean Pinkerton; brother Donald Pinkerton; brother-in-law Stephen Nisbet; and nephew Mark Nisbet.

Carole’s family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Toni and Trish House and Symphony Tri-Cities for their considerate care of Carole.

A funeral service celebrating Carole’s life will take place at 11:00am on Friday, October 27th, 2023, at First Presbyterian Church of Saginaw, 121 S Harrison St, Saginaw, with Rev. Ted McCulloch presiding. Visitation will take place at the church from 10:00am until the time of service, with private entombment at Oakwood Mausoleum.
