Carolyn passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, September 21, 2020 at the age of 91 years. She was born on June 8, 1929 to the late Goddfried and Eva (Metzler) Meyer. Carolyn graduated from Arthur Hill High School; she later married Kenneth Byron on January 6, 1951 in Saginaw. He preceded her in death in 1984.
Carolyn was a stay at home mother whom cherished her time spent with her family. She was a member of American Legion Post 274 in Oscoda and Moose Lodge 82 in Saginaw. She loved reading, bingo, music, going to the casino and bowling.
She is survived by her children: Kenneth (Karen) Byron, Dennis (Ida) Byron, Jody (John) Moncman; several grandchildren; great grandchildren; and one great- great grandchild. Carolyn is also survived by many wonderful nieces, nephews and friends.
She was predeceased by her son Micheal Byron in 2010 and her longtime companion Dave Allen in 2013. Also preceding her in death are her siblings Edward Meyer, Don Meyer, Hilda Mertz, Esther LaCure, Helen Ballor and Mary Burback.
Honoring her wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family celebration will take place at a later date.
