Catherine Ann Smith

Catherine Ann Smith Gladwin, Michigan Formerly of Saginaw Passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2015, at the Gladwin Nursing and Rehab Center. Age 84 years. The daughter of the late Marshall and Mary (Pierce) Ackert was born February 22, 1930 in Flint, Michigan and grew up in Owosso. She graduated from Owosso High School and attended Lansing Community Business College. She married Frederick Smith, June 24, 1989. He passed away December 13, 1996. Catherine was employed by Hudson Corp retiring with 15 years of service. She was a member of State Street United Methodist Church; the United Methodist Women; and the Saginaw General Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed life and always met her challenges with grace and dignity. Surviving are three children and their spouses, Jeffrey and Patti Badelt, Whitefish, MT; Janet and Michael Flynn, Gladwin, MI; Julie and Kim Lobdell, Marietta, GA; nine grandchildren and their spouses, Cori and Brice Ginn; Devonne Badelt; Anjanette Pariani; Tony Pariani; Bryan Flynn; Becky Flynn; Nicole Lobdell; Casey and Michele Lobdell; Erin Lobdell and her fianc, Ryan; a great granddaughter, Rosemary Lobdell; a brother and sister-in-law, Eugene and Suzanne Ackert, Winston Salem, NC; a sister-in-law, Elaine Badelt, Chicago, IL; several nieces and nephews. In accordance with Catherine's wishes, cremation has taken place.
