Catherine Mae Sturgeon

Beloved sister, aunt and friend passed away unexpectedly in her home. She was 72 years old. Catherine Mae Sturgeon was born on February 23, 1946 in Cloverport, Kentucky to the late Charles and Gladys (Weatherholt) Sturgeon. She was a proud graduate of Frederick Fraize High School. She was employed as a Deli Manager with Meijer on Tittabawasee, retiring after over 30 years of service. She enjoyed spending time on her computer and cherished all of her pets, especially her Maltese and Minipin. She was a very caring, family oriented and selfless person, always putting others before herself, often taking people in when they needed a place to stay. Surviving are two sisters and three brothers; Norma Jean Hughes of Saginaw, Pete (Donna) Sturgeon of Rockport, Indiana, Carl (Shirley) Sturgeon of Nicholasville, Kentucky, Judy Peck of Louisville, Kentucky and Forrest Sturgeon of Rockport, Indiana. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers; Allen and James Sturgeon. Honoring the familys wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Saginaw County Humane Society.
