Catherine Ann "Kay" Siler

Catherine Ann "Kay" Siler passed away on March 18, 2025, in Saginaw, Michigan, at the age of 74.

Born on December 27, 1950, in Saginaw, Michigan, Kay was the daughter of Virgil F. Siler of Merrill, Michigan, and Julia H. Hickson of Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. She grew up in the area and graduated from Merrill High School in 1969 before earning a Bachelor of Science degree from Central Michigan University.

In 1978, Kay married Richard Way, and they built a life together in Royal Oak, Michigan. In 1981, she accepted a position as an in-house technical writer for a bank in Houston, Texas. After Richard’s passing, she returned to Saginaw in 2003 and later became the manager of the Saginaw Landlords Association. She held this role until her retirement in 2023. Through her work, she formed lasting friendships and created cherished memories. During this time, she also dedicated herself to caring for her aging parents in Merrill until their passing.

Kay is survived by her siblings, Peter F. (Sue) Siler, Duane J. (Alice) Siler, and Donna M. (David) Steadman, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Honoring her wishes, Kay's body has been donated to science. A Celebration of Life gathering will be scheduled at a later date. Those wishing to honor her memory are encouraged to donate to a charity of their choice, with a preference for cancer research.

Kay’s dedication to her family and community left a lasting impact on those who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew her.
