Send a Sympathy Card
Charles Morris “Chuck” Crafard, Jr.
Saginaw, Michigan
Our beloved husband, Pops, and Grandpa to those he loved and who loved him, left us quietly on Sunday evening, December 17, 2023, with his loving wife and family at his side. At the age of 79 years.
The son of the late Charles Morris Crafard, Sr. and Geneva (Blaisdell) Crafard, Charles was born on May 16, 1944, in Flint, Michigan. He graduated from Farwell High School, with the Class of 1962. Charles’ life was a testament of his unwavering commitment to providing to those he loved. He valued hard work and integrity. Charles proudly served in Ground Communication Maintenance in the United States Air Force for 20 years of loyal and dedicated service, retiring Honorably Discharged. Following his service, Charles was a Mail Handler for the United States Postal Service, retiring after 25 years of service. He married the woman he adored, Mary Elizabeth “Libby” Cohn, on June 10, 1967; she survives him. Charles was a member of American Legion Post 225. He was a doer, a take-care-of-it problem solver, who showed his love through small gestures or tokens of his love and his honey-do-list. In his spare time, Charles enjoyed wood working, building, or fixing things. He enjoyed puzzles, yard work, fishing, and watching Westerns. He was an avid bowler and loved to coach the kids in bowling as well. Charles will be remembered for his can-do attitude, and mischievous twinkle in his eyes, especially when he teased those he loved. Above all, Charles cherished the time spent with his family and loved ones, especially playing with his grandchildren.
Left to cherish his memory besides his wife of 56 years, Mary Elizabeth “Libby” Crafard; are their sons, daughter, and their spouses: Steven and Nicole Crafard, Scott and Debra Crafard, Adam and Leah Crafard, Cheryl Kalenak; grandchildren: Mason Crafard, Wesley Crafard, Johnathon Kalenak, Jorja Kalenak, Tegan Crafard, Verity Crafard; sisters and brother: Carol Botos, James (Glenda) Crafard, Ann Marie (Troy) Boerma. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. Besides his parents; Charles was preceded in death by his brothers and sister: Bryan Crafard, Fred Crafard, Connie Carr, John W. Crafard.
