Charles D. "Charlie" Wedding

Charles D. "Charlie" Wedding of Bridgeport Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, June 29, 2019. He was 78 years old. Charles Delbert Wedding was born on March 31, 1941, in Saginaw to the late John A. and Ethel F. (Winston) Wedding. He was a proud 1959 graduate of Saginaw High School. Following graduation, Charles attended Bay City Junior College graduating with an Associates Degree. While in college, he met the love of his life, Mary Ann Moore, they were united in marriage on July 7, 1962, in Merrill; she survives him. Charlie was employed for 33 years as an assembly worker for Buick City in Flint. He was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Buena Vista Lions Club and their Pin Traders, Carrollton Eagles, and the Steelheaders Association. Charlie was an avid golfer and bowler but also enjoyed tending to his vegetable garden. He also enjoyed coaching little league when his sons were actively involved in the sport. He will forever be remembered for his hard work ethic and the love he had for his family. Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Mary Ann Wedding of Bridgeport; daughter, Kathleen Wedding and her companion, Jerry Barnes of Saginaw; three sons: Charles (Barbara) Wedding of AL; David (Jean) Wedding of Bridgeport; Timothy Wedding of Bridgeport; 7 grandchildren: Nichole, Anthony, David, Olivia, Kylie, Sonya, and Cora; brother, Warren Wedding of Saginaw; two sisters-in-law: Deloris Wedding of Lansing; Carol Moore of Indian River; two brothers-in-law: John (Janice) Moore of Hemlock; Gerald (Mary Ann) Moore of Shields. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by two brother, Frank and John Wedding; a brother-in-law, Robert Moore. A Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 3, 2019, at St. Francis de Sales Parish, (St. Christopher Catholic Church), 3945 Williamson Road. Rev. Fr. John Mancini OSFS will officiate. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 5700 Dixie Highway on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A vigil service will take place at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening. Charlie will lie in state at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Buena Vista Lions Club or Leader Dogs for the Blind.
