Charles Deane Knight

Our beloved father and grandfather went home to the Lord on December 09, 2017, at the age of 88 years. Deane was born on May 29, 1929 in Jackson, MI to the late Erwin and Helene (Uhr) Knight. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1951-1954 stationed on the USS Rushmore. He worked with his family at the Knights Market and retired as President and General Manager of Max R.H. Treu Beer Distributors in 1990. Deane married Donna Jarvis on May 6, 1953; she predeceased him on October 9, 2017. Deane was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying camping, fishing and running. Together with Donna, they owned a Wheel camper for 45 years. Their favorite place to camp was at Otsego Lake State Park near Gaylord, Michigan. He had a strong faith in the Lord and was a member of Faith Ev. Lutheran Church. Deane will be missed by the family he loved: his children, Donn Knight and David (Carol) Knight; grandchildren, Justine Knight, Nathaniel (Olya) Knight, Lysa (Darren) Shaw, and Andrew (Hollie) Knight; great grandson, Noah Knight; his brothers-in-law, Dennis (Margaret) Jarvis and Allan (Pam) Jarvis; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Richard (Marilyn) Knight and sister-in-law Mary Ann Bryan. Funeral services will take place at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 13, 2017, at W.L. Case & Company 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Pastor Karen Knight Price will officiate with burial to follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association.
