Charles E. Gross passed away peacefully at home on Sunday morning, following a long and happy life. He was a lifelong sportsman, enjoyed his career of welding & fabricating on the Mackinaw Bridge, and loved all outdoor activities. In addition to hunting & fishing, he enjoyed riding his quad, mowing grass, camping at the lakes, and the faithful companionship of his dog, Copper.
He was welcomed into heaven by a host of family & dear friends, who include his first wife, Shirley, his parents Warren D. & Fern Gross, and his sister Nancy Wegner. He is survived by his beloved wife, Janice; two sons, Jim Gross & Ron Gross; two daughters, Julia (Mark) Oszust & Terry (Dan) Smerdon; three step-children, J.W. Grasley, Phyllis (Don) Wallen Jr., and Zach (Lori) Grasley; 12 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; a sister, Martha (Darrell) Stimpson; and a special uncle, Rex Burgess. He will be sadly missed by these and many other family members & friends.
Please honor Charless memory by doing something kind for a loved one or stranger. Charles was a grateful person who delighted in thanking everyone for everything, always thanking the Lord, and doing small kindnesses for others as his way of spreading goodness & love.
