Braley, Charles H. Hemlock, MI
Loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away peacefully February 28, 2014, at the age of 67 at Covenant-Cooper. Charles was born December 29, 1946, in Hemlock to the late Charles and Marjorie (Dingman) Braley. He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. He married Bonnie Welsh on January 17, 1970; she survives him. He retired in October 1999 from General Motors Plant 2. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 7302 in Hemlock/Merrill. Charles loved to do anything in the great outdoors especially riding his Trike with his wife. Besides his wife Bonnie he is survived by his daughter, Amanda (John) Smith; his grandchildren that were his pride and joy, Shane and Charles; 5 step-grandchildren; 1 step-great-granddaughter and 1 step-great-grandson; siblings, Al (Danny) Braley and Susan Braley; several nieces and nephews; wood cutting buddy Ron and coffee drinking buddies Kirk and John. He was predeceased by his sister Ev. The family would like to thank the staff at Covenant 6th North for their care and compassion for Charles. The family would also like to thank the Plant 2 Rustic Inn Lunch group for their time spent up at the hospital. Funeral services will take place at 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 3, 2014, at W.L. Case & Company 125 E. Saginaw St. in Merrill. Chaplain Carol Wesolek will officiate with burial to follow in Marion Springs Cemetery under the auspices of VFW Post 7302 Hemlock/Merrill. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. and again on Monday from 12:00 noon until the time of service.
