Charles J. Anderson Saginaw, Michigan Passed away Friday, September 20, 2013. Age 86 years. The son of the late Gladys (Kellogg) and Alfred Anderson was born December 28, 1926 in Corning, Iowa. He married June E. Lepisto, June 14, 1952. She survives him. Charles served with the U.S. Army of Occupation in Japan during WWII. He was a member of American Legion Post #439 and the V.F.W. Post 2622. He received his Bachelor's of Science degree from Central Michigan University and his Master's degree from Michigan State University. He taught school for 39 years retiring from Arthur Hill High School where he was Faculty Advisor for HI-Y. He was a member of Ames United Methodist Church and enjoyed gardening. Surviving besides his wife, June, are four children and their spouses, John and Marcia Anderson, Herndon, VA; Mary and William Ashley, Shelby Twp, MI; Kaija (Joan Anderson) and Will Vukin, Seattle, WA; Paul Anderson and Elizabeth Sheynzon, Chicago, IL; four grandsons, Albert and Ian Anderson; Robert Ashley and his wife, Diana Mircheva; Michael Ashley; a great grandson, Erik Ashley; a brother, Edward Anderson, Ann Arbor, MI; a sister-in-law, Lenora Anderson; two nieces, and a nephew, Susan, Jane and Scott. He was predeceased by a grandson, Daniel Ashley and a brother, Richard Anderson. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 24, 2013, at Ames United Methodist Church, 801 State St. Saginaw. Rev. Mark A. Karls will officiate. Friends may visit at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday.
