Charles J. Snook Saginaw, Michigan Passed away Friday, October 3, 2014 at Covenant Cooper. Age 94 years. The son of the late Rufus and Ellen (Schultz) Snook was born October 16, 1919 in Walker, NY, coming to Saginaw as an infant. He graduated from Arthur Hill Trade School and joined the Civilian Conservation Corp (CCC's) during the Depression and served 2 years in the Upper Peninsula. He served in the U. S. Army during WWII in New Guinea. He met the love of his life, Betty Felker, on Valentine's Day on a blind date in 1942. They were married October 21, 1944, in Saginaw. She passed away November 30, 2001. He was employed by Eaton Manufacturing Co. retiring with 30 years of service. He was a member of St. John Ev. Lutheran Church. Surviving are five sons and their spouses, Terrence Snook and his friend, Carrie Touroo, Freeland, MI; Kim and Darlene Snook, Saginaw, MI; Rodney and Deborah Snook, St. Charles, MI; Brian and Kimberly Snook, Bay City, MI; Craig and Jill Snook, Saginaw, MI; 18 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; an aunt, Lorraine Gaspeny; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Betty, and a stillborn daughter, Susie whom he will finally get to meet; a daughter-in-law, Dee; two granddaughters, Kimberly and Jill; a sister, Beatrice "Toots" Gaspeny and a brother, Douglas Snook. The funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 8, 2014, at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, 4705 Brockway Rd. Saginaw. Rev. Daniel P. Garbow will officiate with Military burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens under the auspices of V.F.W. Post # 1859. Friends may call at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. from 2:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday and then on Wednesday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider St. John Ev. Lutheran Church or a charity of their choice.
