Charles “Charlie” J. Stevens
Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 25, 2020 at St. Francis Home of Saginaw, with his family at his side. At the age of 68 years.

The son of the late Harold J. and Anne E. (Taylor) Stevens, Charlie was born on November, 24, 1951 in Saginaw, Michigan. He graduated from St. Mary’s High School with the Class of 1969; Charlie then continued his education at Western Michigan University, receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering in 1976. He married Sandra Heartwell on August 19, 1972 at St. Francis de Sales Parish, St. Christopher Catholic Church, Saginaw, Michigan. They shared 22 wonderful years together. Charlie worked for many years of service at Rico Tool Company until he retired. He was a member of St. Francis de Sales Parish, St. Christopher Catholic Church and St. John Paul II Parish, St. Josaphat Catholic Church. Charlie had a green thumb as he enjoyed planting flowers. He also loved fishing; music, especially classic rock; and watching sci-fi movies. Family and friends would describe Charlie as a genuine, patient, kind-hearted individual. He would crack a joke to make anyone he knew or loved smile. Above all, Charlie cherished the time spent with his family.

Surviving are one daughter and her husband: Sara and Timothy Enszer, Midland, Michigan; three grandchildren: Starr (Trenten) Smith, Saginaw, Michigan; Brenden and Olivia Enszer, both of Midland, Michigan; one brother; three sisters; two very dear friends: Sandy Stevens; Scott Cramton. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members. Besides his parents; Charlie is preceded in death by one brother and four sisters.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to A&D Home Health Care and Hospice, St. Francis Home of Saginaw and Avielle Haven Home; especially his caring supporter: Chris Bauman; for their compassionate and gentle care of Charlie.
