He was a faithful member of Hemlock United Methodist Church. Charlie was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. He was a tinkerer by nature and loved his tractors. Above all, Charlie loved and cherished his family, especially spending time with his grandchildren. He will forever be remembered for his excellent sense of humor, for being a jokester, and for the beautiful smile his wife fell in love with years ago.

Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Nancy L. Dawley of Hemlock; daughter, Cindy (Greg) Asakevich of Rhodes; Dave (Kari) Dawley of Beaverton; four grandchildren: Matthew Asakevich of Midland; Josh Asakevich and his fiancée, Melanie Ginzel of Port Huron; Dakota Dawley and his girlfriend, Tammy Smith of Beaverton; Kassidy Dawley of Beaverton; one great-granddaughter, Avery Rose; sister, Shirley (Don) Needham; two sisters-in-law: Mary Ann Schomaker and Ann Dawley.
