Charles Frederick Kline, Jr. Saginaw, MI Our beloved Father, Opa, Grandfather and Great Grandfather went home to be with the Lord on August 5, 2016, at the age of 87. Fred was born on July 18, 1929 in York PA to the late Charles F. Kline Sr. and Flora M. (Miller) Kline. He married the love of his life, Patsy (MacGregory) Kline on March 16, 1957, who predeceased him on April 16, 2009. He is survived by his children, sons Randy Kline, Kevin (Karen) Kline and daughter Kimberly (Scott) Grierson; grandchildren Audrey (Bradley) Frieberg, Rev. Jeffrey (Carrie) Fox-Kline, Hilary Grierson, Danyelle Grierson and Daniel Kline. He was anxiously awaiting the arrival of two great grandchildren to be born in September, 2016 and January, 2017. He was predeceased by his sisters Nancy Jean (Norman) Brennan and Audrey Kline. Fred was a Navy veteran, serving from 1947-1950. He retired from Metropolitan Life Insurance on October 16, 1984 after 20 years of service. Fred, a very spiritual man, worshiped at State Street United Methodist Church since the time of his marriage to Patsy in 1957, and raised his three children in the faith. He was a very active member and served on several committees at the church and was the head usher, which he served with much passion. Fred, affectionately called "Fred Bear", was Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 387, continuing even after his sons left Scouting. He was a member the Riverside Kiwanis Club of Saginaw for many years, where he was chairman of the Spiritual Aims Committee. Together, Pasty and Fred volunteered at Covenant Harrison and Fred was diligent in distributing the mail for many years. The family would like to express deep thanks to Bob Thaler and Janet Patrick for all their love, devotion and kindness, as well as to Jim Davis for being his life saver. We would also like to share our deep gratitude to the Cartwright Center Hospice for all their support and kindness during Fred's last days. Dad/Opa/Grandpa; you are cherished in our hearts and we know that you and Mom are now watching over us and helping guide our family in all that we do. Memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 13, 2016, at State Street United Methodist Church 3617 Mackinaw Rd. Rev. Monique Turner will officiate the service. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to State Street United Methodist Church.
