Charles W. Books Freeland, Michigan Passed away peacefully at his home, Monday April 18th, 2016, at the age of 89 years. Charles married the love of his life Marlene on Aug 29 1959, and as newlyweds they lived in Ypsilanti for a short time, before building a home in Unadilla Mi. Charles, was a graduate of Eastern Michigan University. In 1995 he retired as a tool designer from Irwin Magnetice in Ann Arbor. After 35 years in Unadilla, Charles and Marlene retired to Freeland MI. Marlene passed away April 7th 2006. Charles was a member of Community Baptist Church. Charles is survived by cousins Sidney and Carol LaBrake of Saginaw; good friend and neighbor Darcy Wood; dear friends Leslie Toland and Connie Latuszek; Loving friend Mary Stewart of Ann Arbor, Mi; and several nieces and nephews. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Betty Rodiek, Helen Elliott, brother John Books and niece Melissa Elliott. It was the simple things around him that he never took for granted, commenting daily how fortunate and thankful he was. Charles was a kind and loving man of strong faith that believed in the power and strength of Jesus Christ's love, and the beauty and peace that would await him after his passing. He's at peace. He's with his loving wife Marlene. He will be thought of daily and missed by everyone who had the privilege to know him. Charles requested there be no funeral service.
