Passed away Sunday, June 2, 2019, at Westcourt. Age 97 years. The daughter of the late Alta (Schrage) and Floyd Griffor was born February 4, 1922 in Zilwaukee, Michigan. She married Charles Slaton, February 26, 1938. He passed away June 12, 1965. Later she married, Robert L. Konopko, in 1966. He passed away August 11, 2012. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, the League of Catholic Women and Knights of Columbus #593 Ladies Auxiliary. Charlotte collected antique dolls, Kewpie dolls and antiques, having a booth in the Antique Warehouse for many years. She enjoyed sewing, especially clothes for her antique doll collection, playing cards and going to the casino.
Surviving are two daughters and their spouses, Roberta and Dale Rowell, Washington; Sandra and Vern Falsetto, Texas; 7 grandchildren, Patricia Eikey, Carrie Fisher, Jennifer Bernard, John Maul, Mary Williams, Joseph Yeska, Lori Dean; many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law, Helen and George Lewis; many nieces, nephews and a special nephew, John Fritzler. She was predeceased by a daughter, Charleen Clark in 1984, a grandson, Thomas Clark, and several brothers and sisters.
The funeral liturgy will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 7, 2019, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1525 S. Washington Ave. Rev. Fr. Thai Nguyen and Deacon Roger Pasionek will officiate. Rite of Committal will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday where the parish vigil service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friends may then call at the church from 9:00 a.m. Friday until the time of the funeral liturgy.
