Beyersdorf, Chester R. Hemlock, Michigan Passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at the age of 85 years. The son of the late William and Edna (Schoof) Beyersdorf was born on October 1, 1929 in Richland Township, MI. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, earning a Bronze Star. Chester farmed in the Hemlock area all his life. He was a life-long member of Zion Lutheran Church and active in their choir. Chester enjoyed woodworking and was a great cook and baker. Surviving are three sisters: Mildred Pretzer, Doris Schafer, Evelyn Pretzer, a brother-in-law Ralph Rowe, and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. He was predeceased by six sisters and 2 brothers: Ruella Suhan, Erna Ellis, Iola Minto, Nina Rowe, Lorraine Wardin, Adeline Neuenfeldt, Addison Beyersdorf, Elder Beyersdorf, and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at Zion Lutheran Church, 17927 Dice Rd. Rev. Paul A. Hauser will officiate with military burial at Roselawn Memorial Gardens under the auspices of V.F.W. #7302. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, Merrill from 2:00-8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday at church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider Zion Lutheran Church or the Richland Township Rescue Squad.
