Christine “Chrisie” Lynn Dengler (Johnson)

Lovingly and affectionately known as “Chrisie D”, “Nuna”, or just “Chrisie”, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Saturday, May 22, 2021. She was 56 years old. Christine Lynn Johnson was born on February 17, 1965, in Saginaw, Michigan, to Donald Johnson and the late Christina (Hayes) Johnson. She was a proud 1983 graduate of Bridgeport High School. Chrisie married the love of her life, James “Jim” Walter Dengler on April 12, 1989; he survives her. She had an artistic soul, finding pure bliss and happiness in quilting, as well as working on various crafts with her family for every holiday. Chrisie enjoyed collecting giraffes and found peace and tranquility in nature, especially camping, spending time in her yard, and having friends and family gathered around bonfires. She had an affinity for the colors purple and yellow and embodied the essence of these colors through her selflessness, loving and giving heart, her sense of humor and laughter, and for always opening her doors to anyone in need. She also enjoyed cooking, baking, and decorating cookies, innately knowing how many cups of love, dashes of kindness, and pinches of care were needed to make everything perfect. Above all, Chrisie loved, treasured, and cherished the time she was able to spend playing cards and having Sunday Funday’s with her “Hunny Jim” and their three children.

Left to cherish her memories are her husband, James "Jim/Twist" Walter Dengler; two daughters and a son: Carmi Christina (Rayshodd) Johnson, Carli Gabrielle Dengler, and James Walter Dengler II and his fiancee, Amber; father, Donald Johnson; adopted daughter, Jenna Moore; adopted granddaughters: Ava and Ellarie; two brothers and five sisters: Donald (Kathy) Johnson II, Ronald (Cindy) Johnson, Bonnie (Bruce) Frank, Connie (Craig) Delaney, Vickie (Wayne) McCollum, Julie (Art) Smith, and Mary (Mark) Danks; sister-in-law, Connie (Pam) Dengler; brother-in-law, Randy Dengler. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Chrisie was predeceased by her mother, Christina (Hayes) Johnson; father-in-law and mother-in-law, James and Dorothy Dengler; and her beloved niece, Jayni (Johnson) Gardner.

Honoring Chrisie’s wishes cremation has taken place. A celebration of Chrisie's life will take place at the Dengler Family Home, 4913 Dixie Highway, Saginaw, Michigan, 48601 on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Please share your thoughts and memories with the family through www.casefuneralhome.com.
