Clara Mary Talik

We are sad to announce that on October 4, 2023, at the incredible age of 99, Clara Mary Talik (Kohlhoff) peacefully passed away at Wellspring's Senior Living Campus. Clara was born on April 19, 1924, and lived in Saginaw, MI, her entire life.

She was mom to Mike (Linda) Talik of Ann Arbor, MI and Vickie Jo Talik of Englewood, FL; she was grandma to Katherine (Jonathan) Trevathan of Ann Arbor, MI and Michael (Jennifer) Talik of Ypsilanti, MI. She was great-grandma to Ethan and Hattie, who was named in her mom's honor.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, John Talik; sisters, Dorothy Rohlhoff and Violet Buddle; and brother, Kenneth Kohlhoff. She is survived by her brother, Fred Kohloff, sister, Judy Hasse, and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was the daughter of Fred and Hattie (Spitz) Kohlhoff.

A lot of living was done in her lifetime. After marrying John on September 27, 1947, they built a home where they lived until John's passing. It was there she lovingly created and tended to vegetable and flower gardens, and always opted to line dry her clothes (a trait that her granddaughter inherited). Over the years, she enjoyed bowling, mall walking, traveling, playing cards, sister adventures, and dancing with her favorite partner - John. Later in life, she enjoyed laughing (and having Nerf gun fights) with her great grandkids.

She will be missed greatly.

A visitation will be held on Friday, October 6, 2023, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Home, 4480 Mackinaw Rd., Saginaw, MI, 48603. The funeral will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at the funeral home with a visitation from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at noon. Pastor JJ Mannschreck will officiate. A brief burial at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, 950 N. Center Rd., Saginaw, MI, 48638; will follow the funeral. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Clara's name to the Suncoast Humane Society (where her daughter Vickie is a dedicated volunteer), 6781 San Casa, Englewood, FL, 3442 or at www.humane.org
