Clarence E. Hagerl Freeland, Michigan Passed away Tuesday, August 12, 2014, at Covenant Cooper. Age 82 years. The son of the late John and Anna (Helpap) Hagerl was born May 27, 1932 in Saginaw, Michigan. He married Linda Gruber, June 15, 1996. She survives him. Clarence served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He engaged in farming in Thomas Township all of his life. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, the out-of-doors, and his Friday morning breakfast club. Surviving besides his wife, Linda, are two children, Janice Arends and her husband, Robert; Kenny Hagerl and Sue Wallace; four grandchildren, Melissa and Mitchell Arends; Kara and Hunter Hagerl; a sister, Margaret and Arthur Winterstein; two sisters-in-law, Lois Hagerl and Barb Merchant; two nephews and one niece, John and Terry Winterstein, Laura Dittenber. A brother, Robert Hagerl predeceased him. The funeral liturgy will take place at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 16, 2014, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1035 N. River Rd. Saginaw. Rev. Peter Gaspeny will officiate. Friends may call at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Rd. from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Friday and then at the Church from 9:00 a.m. Saturday until the time of the funeral liturgy.
