Clifford Wayne Ostrander, beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, peacefully went to be with the Lord on April 2, 2025, in Saginaw, Michigan, at the age of 65. Born on October 30, 1959, in Alma, Michigan, Clifford lived a full and cherished life, marked by kindness, hard work, and a profound love for the outdoors.
Clifford dedicated 43 years of his life to Hehr-Lipper Glass Manufacturing, where he served as an oven operator. He was a member of the Marion Springs Conservation Cub, as an avid outdoorsman, he found solace and happiness in fishing, hunting, gardening, and birdwatching—activities that brought him close to the beauty of the world around him.
In a life intertwined with love and camaraderie, Clifford married Sandra, on July 8, 1995.
Cliff is survived by his wife, Sandra and his children: Susan (Brandon) Waltz, Jennifer (Chris) Zehnder, Clifford D. Ostrander III, Carl W. Ostrander, and Erica (Shawn) Beuche, mourn the loss of a man who meant so much to all who knew him. He was a loving grandfather to Katelyn, Madison, Tyler, Clayton, Sage, Alexis, Hannah, Elizabeth, Leanna, Amaria, Marissa, Lydia, and a proud great-grandfather to Scarlet. Clifford's mother, Wilma Ostrander, finds herself among those who grieve his passing, as do his brother, John (Maggie) Ostrander, his sister, Cindy Bonar, and his sisters-in-law, Sheila (Dave) Bates, Beverly (Alan) Wenzlick, and Roberta "Bobbie" (Dave) McIntyre. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends, each bonded by the memories they shared with him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clifford D. Ostrander, sister Denise Ostrander, brothers-in-law Mike Bonar and LeRoy Bates, daughter-in-law Jamie Ostrander, and his father and mother-in-law, Daniel and Lavone Bates.
A funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 7, 2025 at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 125 E. Saginaw St. in Merrill. Burial will follow at Brant Township Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Monday at the funeral chapel from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service.
