Clifford Yuncker, Sr.

Clifford Lee Yuncker, Sr. Thomas Township, Michigan Our loving son, father and grandfather passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2017, age 79 years. He was born on April 9, 1938, son of Louise (Peters) and the late Howard Yuncker, in Mt. Pleasant. Clifford served in the U. S. Navy and was a member of the American Legion Post # 267. He married Kathy Jo Stark on April 20, 1968. She predeceased him on February 9, 2001. Cliff worked for Shields Body Shop for 30 years. Clifford and Kathy moved to Las Vegas where he completed coursework to become a slot machine mechanic. He worked at Fritzgeralds Casino and loved it. He enjoyed going to the casino, was an avid hunter and fisherman. His prized possession were his cars and would spend as much time as he could working on them. He loved NASCAR racing both as a driver and spectator. Clifford was a talented woodworker and created many beautiful pieces for his children to be passed down for generations to come. He enjoyed playing the organ, tinkering with his remote control airplanes and Kathys brand new sewing machine before he had given it to her. He even made his own suit with snaps and zippers. He will be missed by his mother, Louise, his children, Terry Edwards of Perry, MI, Clifford Yuncker, Jr. of Shields, Machelle (Kelly) Yuncker of Lansing and Dan (Ava) Logan; grandchildren, Whitney, Chelsea, Travis in spirit, Justin, Brianna and Andrew; 10 great grandchildren; brother, Bill (Mary) Yuncker; sister, Kathy (Buck) Smith; niece and nephews, Tina, Tim, Scott and Stephen; also many other special relatives and friends, including his very special friend Hugo. He was predeceased by his special grandson, Travis, sister, Violet, sister-in-law, Marsha, brothers-in-law, Stanley and Ford. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at W. L. Case and Company, 201 N. Miller Road, with burial in Chapel Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the ALS Association or the Wounded Warrior Project in Cliffs name.
