Cooper gained his wings to help him fly to heaven on March 3, 2022, with is family by his side. Age 18 years.
Cooper was born August 31, 2003, in Saginaw, to his parents Jason and Krista (Gunther) Wobio. He was a proud graduate of Heritage High School, class of 2021. Cooper was taking classes at Delta to become a welder. Hockey was his passion. Cooper played for most of his life, playing for several years at Saginaw Bay Ice Arena, travel hockey, a few years at Flint Iceland Arena, then moved on to play varsity hockey for Heritage High School. He continued to play for fun in the men's league with his father and friends. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and rollerblading with his friends. Above all else he enjoyed spending time with his family, and the many vacations and adventures they went on, and the love of his life, Sage. Cooper was the most selfless person with a heart of gold. He was very dependable and would do anything for anyone. Cooper will always be remembered for his strength, resiliency and great sense of humor.
Cooper is survived by his parents, Jason and Krista Wobio, his brother, Brett, his girlfriend, Sage Larkin, his grandma, Debby Lelo, aunts and uncles: Kelley Kritzman and her husband Kevin, Timothy Wobio, Joel Gunther and wife Rachel, Stephanie Giltrop her husband John, several cousins: Brittany Bostwick, Brandon Zwingman, Rylee Wobio, Chase Wobio, Nathan Giltrop, Nicholas Giltrop Jacob Giltrop, Justin Gunther, Johnathan Gunther, Breanna Gunther, and many good friends.
Cooper was predeceased by his grandparents, Jerry Wobio, Philip Gunther, Patricia Gunther, and Herb Lelo, and a cousin, Nicholas Wobio.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at St. Dominic Parish, St. Stephen Catholic Church, 2711 Mackinaw Road, Saginaw, Michigan 48602. Rev. Fr. Steve Gavit will officiate with burial to follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road, Saginaw, Michigan 48603; as well as from 10:00 am on Wednesday until the time of service at the church. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the Saginaw Bay Ice Arena.
