Cornelis "Case" Van Mastrigt Freeland, Michigan
Went to the arms of Jesus on Saturday, May 19, 2018, at the Cartwright Hospice Residence. Age 71 years. He was born in The Netherlands in 1947. He was married to Nancy for almost 49 wonderful years.
Case was a good and faithful servant to his Lord serving as an elder at both Midland Reformed Church and Community Christian Reformed Church. He began his career at Michigan Bell Telephone Company retiring with over 40 years of service. He was an avid cyclist having biked from Seattle to Boston with Sea to Sea: Cycling to End Poverty through World Renew and Partners Worldwide. He enjoyed the outdoors including gardening and camping. He treasured time with his grandchildren and family.
Surviving besides his wife are his son Jacob (Melissa); daughter Jenna (Brian); five grandchildren, Natalie, Shay, Jack, Lauren and Kate; one brother, Leo (Maria), two sisters, Ledy (Norm) and Leny (Lowell); two sisters-in-law, Diane (LeeRoy) and Peggy (Alan); and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Jacob and Marie Van Mastrigt.
Funeral service will take place at 11:00 am Friday, May 25, 2018, at Community Christian Reformed Church, 6045 Mackinaw Rd. Rev. Nathan Gritter will officiate with entombment at Oakwood Mausoleum. Friends may call at the church from 10:00 am Friday until the time of the funeral service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider Midland Reformed Church or Community Christian Reformed Church.
