His family later moved to Grosse Pointe Woods when he was a small child. He graduated from Grosse Pointe High School in 1966 at the time with the most credits of any graduate of the school up to that point. Following graduation he attended Wayne State University where he studied computer science at the time that computers were in their infancy. Dale grew a fondness for technology and continued his aspirations by working with computers for the rest of his life. He worked for 12 years at Design Craftsmen in Midland, MI. Most recently he was employed by CompuVision as a contractor at Dow Chemical in Midland, MI. Later in life Dale attended Saginaw Valley State University to continue his lifelong pursuit of education and knowledge. Not only did he enjoy the computer science courses he developed a keen interest in photography and continued his passion by collecting cameras and taking thousands of photos of his beautiful grandchildren. He became an avid bicyclist by joining the Tri-City Cyclists where he served many years on their board and logged thousands of miles on the road. Dale also continued serving his community by being a member of the Midland County Parks and Recreation board for several years. Dale also was very excited in being a big part of his children's lives. He was involved with coaching Odyssey of the Mind in Breckenridge Community Schools for several years. The coaching bug also got him as he coached his sons in baseball for a few years as well. In his recent years Dale developed an interest in gardening. He was often found out in the flower and vegetable gardens tending to his plants and roses as he continued his peace of mind. His wife, children, grandchildren and friends loved him dearly and he will be greatly missed by all. A luncheon and a memorial service for family and close friends will be announced at a later date.
