Passed away September 18, 2021. Age 93 years.
The son of the late William J. and Liguori A. (Mahoney) Haven was born August 8, 1928 near Hemlock, Michigan. He married Dorothy J. Gembarowski, June 12, 1954. She survives him. Dan served with the U.S. Army from 1951-1952. He was employed by General Motors (Saginaw Steering Gear) retiring with over thirty years of service. After retirement, he lived for many years in El Paso, TX and Apache Junction AZ prior to moving to Midland, Michigan. He loved baseball, reminiscing often about his time playing minor league ball. Until health prevented, he attended mass weekly wherever he might be and served along with his wife as an usher for many years, also spending many hours as a volunteer in church projects.
Surviving besides his wife, Dorothy, are a son and his spouse, Dan (Linda) Haven, Midland, MI; his brother, Tom Haven; his sisters, Liguori (Babe) Moss and Helen Laurenz; his sisters-in-law, Bernie, Nancy and Shirley Haven; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Ilean Petre and Alice Osselame, brothers, James, William (Joseph) and Leo Haven; sister-in-law, Pat Haven, brothers-in-law William Osselame, Robert Petre and Jim Laurenz.
The funeral liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 23, 2021, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Rev. Peter Gaspeny will officiate. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Thursday until the time of the funeral liturgy.
