Alever, Daniel C. (Danny) Saginaw, Michigan
Passed away January 28, 2015 in Hudson, Florida at the age of 94 years. Danny was born January 25, 1921, the son of the late Charles C. and Hazel (Rosemayer) Alever. He married Lorene Walters she predeceased him in 1986; Danny then married Florence Rappuhn in 1992 she survives him. Dan Retired from Johnson Carbide. He served in the 8th Air force B24 Bomber group in England during WWII. He was a champion boat racer (464) in the 1950's and he won many races and trophies. Dan was an excellent master gardener, he spent many hours in his garden growing many kinds of vegetables for which he won lots of first prizes at the Saginaw County fair. He was also a prize winning billiard player which was one of his favorite past times. Dan was a life member of the American legion post 439. Surviving besides his wife Florence are his sister Elaine and a brother Charles (Vi) Alever; step-son James (Patricia) Walters; and three step daughters Susan (Tom) Myers, Barbara (Tom) Fairbanks, Beverly (Dennis) McClure, and his best pal Ken Wendling; also several grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Dan was predeceased by one sister and one brother June (Lyall) Aldrich and William (Dolly) Alever. A memorial service will take place 11:00 a.m. Thursday April 16, 2015 at the W.L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Rev. Scott Lindenberg will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
