Daniel J. Shephard

Daniel J. Shephard Hemlock, Michigan Dan passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family, on Thursday, October 31, 2019, at the age of 67 years. Dan was born December 5, 1951, in Saginaw. The son of James A. Shephard and the late Janet (Neveau) Shephard. Dan grew up on the family farm and graduated from Merrill High School with the class of 1970. Dan proudly served his country by enlisting into the Michigan National Guard. He then worked for General Motors, later retiring from Nexteer following many years of service. Dan was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying both hunting and fishing. He also loved anything to do with, or around the water, especially air boating. His greatest passion was with classic cars and motor cycles. Above all, he loved and cherished his family and his cat, Mutski. The light of his world was his grandson, Coleman, whom he was proud of like no other. Surviving besides his father, James; are his daughter, Holli Shephard; one grandson, Coleman Shephard; one sister, Pamela (David) McQueen; one brother, Victor Shephard; his long time companion, Sheila Klein; several nieces and nephews; and many close friends. He was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Lori Shephard. The family would like to thank Covenant VNA Hospice for the wonderful care they gave Dan. Funeral service will take place at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 2, 2019, at the W.L. Case Funeral Chapel 201 N. Miller Rd. Rev. Rob Richards will officiate with cremation to follow. Friends may call at the funeral Chapel from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider Covenant VNA.
