Daniel Gene Martin

Daniel Gene Martin, age 56, of St. Charles, Michigan, passed away suddenly on Thursday, February 20, 2025. 

Dan was born in Midland, Michigan on February 27, 1968. He graduated from Hemlock High School in 1987. After high school he honorably served his country in the United States Navy. He worked for the Walmart Supercenter on Tittabawassee in Saginaw for 17 years. He attended Faith Baptist Church, where he made many friendships. Dan loved music and played bass and flattop guitar. He enjoyed the outdoors and would fish anywhere he could drop a line. He was loved by many and had a great sense of humor.

Dan is survived by his wife Tina Kumm, whom he married on May 23, 2012. He is also survived by his father, Leonard Earl Martin; son, Devon Martin; two grandchildren, Arabella Martin and Haddie Martin; siblings, Les (Cathy York) Martin, Jeremy (Malissa Barnes) Martin, Jim (Dawn) Boshans, Mike Boshans, Barbara “Barbie” (Daniel) Lacount, and Dennis Boshans; many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Dan was preceded in death by his mother Jeannine (Martin) Grear; and his stepmother, Mary Jane Martin.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Faith Baptist Church, 4690 Tittabawassee Rd, Saginaw, MI 48604, officiated by Pastor Scott McIntyre. Following the service, military honors will be conducted to honor Dan’s time in the Navy. Friends may visit with the family at the church from 12:30 p.m. until time of the service on Saturday.
