Daniel W. "Dan" Apperson of Bridgeport, Michigan Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend passed away suddenly with his family by his side on Tuesday, December 17, 2019, at Ascension St. Marys. Daniel Wayne Apperson was born on October 4, 1956, in Eldon, Missouri, to the late Cecil and Mavis (Condo) Apperson, Jr. He was a proud 1974 graduate of Eldon High School. Following graduation, Dan attended the Basic Institute of Technology where he received his degree in computer engineering. He then attended the University of Missouri - St. Louis. Dan proudly served his country by enlisting into the United States Air Force where he served during the Vietnam War. He married Vicki Lynn Albrecht on July 22, 2000; she survives him. Dan was employed at Bronners Christmas Wonderland as an ornament personalizer and team leader. He was a former member of the Bridgeport Masonic Lodge #258. Dan was a faithful member and deacon at Bridgeport Community Church. Dan was also involved as a substitute Sunday school teacher and on occasion he would preach and give a thought provoking message to the congregation. He had written two books, "The God Element" and "Proving the Existence of God". Dan was an excellent cook. Even though he didnt have the title, he was a master gardner. He and his wife enjoyed feeding "the critters". Dan will forever be remembered for his excellent sense of humor, his love of family, and for his perseverance. Surviving are his wife, Vicki Apperson of Bridgeport; daughter, Courtney (Clint) Cottrell of MO; son, Benjamin (Kim) Apperson of FL; two stepsons: Joshua (Melissa) Grimes of Saginaw; Nathan (Esther) Grimes of WY; 12 grandchildren; one sister, Debbie (Larry) McMullen of WY; three sisters-in-law: Suzanne (Ray) Schell of Bridgeport; Linda Bishop of Hemlock; Annette (Larry) Kirkpatrick of Saginaw; brother-in-law, Lee (Linda) Albrecht, Jr of Bridgeport. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. A funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 20, 2019, at Bridgeport Community Church, 3821 State St., Bridgeport. Pastor Ron Sinclair will officiate. Burial and Military Honors will follow under the auspices of the United States Air Force and American Legion Post #439 at Pine Grove Cemetery. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 5700 Dixie Highway on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Bridgeport Community Church.
