Darrell Wayne Darland

Darland, Darrell Wayne Saginaw, MI Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend went to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, December 12, 2013. Age 68 years. Darrell was born on June 25, 1945, in Saginaw, the son of the late Vernon "Tim" and Bessie (Gallery) Darland. He married Cheryl McCann on January 29, 1966; she survives him. Darrell owned and operated Darland's Service for many years, forming many lasting friendships. He was an active member of the Bay Valley Corvette Club, where he spent many weekends with close friends participating in car shows. Darrell also enjoyed spending time with family and friends at his vacation homes in Clare County and Fort Myers, Florida. He most cherished the time spent with his five grandchildren. In addition to his wife Cheryl, are two daughters, Darlene (Craig) Wilsey, Gaylord, and Amy (Gregory) Derleth, Saginaw; five grandchildren, Justin and Jordan Wilsey, Michael, Tyler and Jaden Derleth; his sister, Dolores "Dee" Morel; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Kay and Dan Peele. He is also survived by an aunt, Alice Rummery; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends. Darrell was preceded in death by his father and mother, Vernon and Bessie (Gallery) Darland; brothers, Vernon and Donald Darland; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, William and Pauline (Creaser) McCann, and his brother-in-law, Donald Stephens. Funeral services will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 16, 2013, at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Road. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, 201 N. Miller Road, from 1:00 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, and then on Monday from 12:00 noon until the time of service. Rev. Fr. Peter Gaspeny will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
