Darwin Albert Conklin

Conklin, Darwin Albert Swan Creek Township Passed away Monday, January 21, 2013, to be with his Lord. Age 78 years. Darwin was born October 14, 1934 in Shiawassee County, the son of the late LaVerne and Ruth (Brown) Conklin. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church of Shields, MI. He married Eileen Blaine in 1952. She survives him. He had been employed for many years at Saginaw Steering Gear Div. of General Motors Corporation. He also enjoyed many years of retirement. Darwin especially enjoyed his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Darwin enjoyed his retirement fishing, bowling and traveling. Surviving besides his wife, Eileen, are one son, one daughter and their spouses, Ron and Sara Conklin, Statesville, N.C; Darlene and Pastor Lloyd Schlomer, Moorhead, MN; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two brothers-in-law, Gerald Baker; Paul Goodrich; one sister-in-law, Barbara Conklin; many special nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Clare, Don and Charles and two sisters, Geraldine and Bonnie. The funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 25, 2013, at Christ Lutheran Church, 8795 Ederer Rd. Saginaw. Rev. Wade Johnston will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Rd. from 2:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday and then at the Church from 10:00 a.m. Friday until the time of the funeral service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider Christ Lutheran Church or Southern Care Hospice.
