Beloved husband, father, and grandfather, David Alan Kellett passed away on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at the age of 76 at Covenant Hospital, Saginaw, MI.
David was born on March 25, 1946 in Saginaw, Michigan the son of the late John D. Kellett and lva A. (Doyle) Kellett. David grew up in Saginaw, Mi attending public school and graduating from Arthur Hill High School, class of 1964. He served in the United States Air Force from 1964-1968 as a sergeant serving most of his duty stationed in Japan. After serving in the Air Force, David came home to Saginaw, married and started a family, He worked for 30 years at General Motors Corp. from 1968-1998 as a machine operator. He was a past commander of the American Legion Post #439, Saginaw, MI from 1989-1990 . David loved sports, going to the casino and spending time with his family. David, aka "Red" was especially proud of his Irish ancestry.
Surviving are his wife of 36 years, Martha (Mervau) Kellett, daughter Tracy (Robert) Robinson, sons Brandon, David M. and Paul Kellett. Also surviving is a sister, Virginia Lyons, sisters-in-law, Ivalene Kellett and Marcia Bennett, three grandchildren; Brittany, Brianna and Brendan Robinson, nieces, nephews and friends. David was preceded in death by his parents, John and Iva (Doyle) Kellett and brothers Jack Kellett and Bob Bennett, and brother-in-law Don Lyons.
Based on David's wishes, cremation has taken place. A committal service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 16, 2022 at Roselawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery Chapel. Rev. Rob Richards will officiate. David’s ashes will be interred in the veterans Roselawn Memorial Gardens cemetery with military honors under the auspices of American Legion Post #439.
