David Charles “Dave” Kissane of Saginaw, Michigan, formerly of Hemlock, beloved father, grandfather, uncle, son and brother passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 1, 2020. He was 54-years-old. David was born on August 11, 1965 in Saginaw, Michigan to Patrick and Julia (Hoeppner) Kissane. He was a proud 1983 graduate of Hemlock High School. Following graduation, Dave worked for many years in the health care setting as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Dave worked at Covenant Health Care for fifteen years, where he was admired and adored by his patients. His compassionate devoted care of patients was recognized, and he received an award for Employee of the Year. Dave was of the Catholic faith. He enjoyed helping others including volunteering at the preschool and elementary schools his daughters attended. He also provided years of service for the Commission on Aging in his community and was an involved leader for the Boy Scouts of America.
Dave was an outdoor enthusiast; his love of nature included camping, fishing, hunting, and spending an evening by a bonfire with family and friends whenever he could. He was an avid reader of novels, especially westerns. Dave cherished his four-legged best friends, especially his Pomeranian Chacie, and his treasured Pomeranian, the late Dakota. Dave’s good-hearted nature and kind soul was known by many as he had the innate ability to connect with people. Above all, he cherished his grandchildren.
Dave was married to Anne Marie Hess, and while no longer together, they raised two beautiful daughters who survive him: Katheren Kissane of Saginaw; Colleen (Justin) Dietrich of Saginaw; as well as his three granddaughters: Amanda Samuel, Brianna Samuel, and Caylee Dietrich; mother, Julia Kissane of Hemlock; sister, Victoria (Kevin) Sargent of Trenton; brother, Christopher (Amy) Kissane of Saline. He was preceded in death by his father, Patrick Kissane.
Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, a private family funeral will be held at W.L. Case & Company Funeral Home in Saginaw, Michigan, followed by a private family burial at St. Mary Cemetery in Hemlock, Michigan. Our thoughts and prayers are with family and friends who are unable to join together in honoring Dave’s life at this time. As Dave always appreciated your love and support throughout his life, we are holding you in our hearts during this difficult time.
