David Edward Kinde of Saginaw, Michigan
Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday, December 15, 2020, at Covenant HealthCare – Cooper. He was 82 years old. David Edward Kinde was born on February 28, 1938, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late Lloyd V. and Rosetta H. (Palasty) Kinde. He was a proud graduate of Rueben Daniels High School. David married the love of his life, Mary Jeanette Nunamaker on June 26, 1965, in Saginaw; she survives him. He was employed as an assembly line worker with General Motors – Saginaw Metal Casting Operations; retiring after 39 years of dedicated service. David was a faithful member of St. John Paul II Parish, St. Josaphat Catholic Church. He was a former member of the Carrollton Senior Club, VFW Post #1859, and the Knights of Columbus Council #4232. David enjoyed watching sports, especially baseball, and rooted for the Detroit Tigers no matter their record. He also enjoyed watching and attending wrestling events throughout the state, and listening to music with Elvis being his favorite musician. David will forever be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor, his hard work ethic, and his innate ability to communicate or connect with people.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Mary J. Kinde of Saginaw; two sons and a daughter: Paul (Gina) Kinde of Saginaw; Jenni Kinde and her fiance, Brian Niven of Saginaw; David E. Kinde II and his girlfriend, Sarah DeLaGarza and her son, Noah Lockridge; three grandchildren: Ashley Kinde, Amanda (Dan) Leddy, and Collin Kinde; one brother and three sisters: Fran Steinke of Tulsa, OK; Pat (Daniel) Krauseneck of Saginaw; Janet Hosley of Saginaw; Daniel (Linda) Kinde of Grand Rapids. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Michael Kinde; and two brothers-in-law: Arden Steinke and Carl Hosley.
A Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 22, 2020, at St. John Paul II Parish, St. Josaphat Catholic Church, 469 Shattuck Road. Rev. Fr. William J. Rutkowski will officiate. Rite of Committal will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the church on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass. In accordance with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services ordinance, indoor capacity is limited, face coverings are required, and social distancing encouraged. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. John Paul II Parish or the American Heart Association.
