David Raymond Kiefer II, age 61 of Thomas Township, passed away at his home on Sunday, October 13, 2024, with his loving family at his side. David was born in Saginaw on June 21, 1963, to David Raymond Kiefer and Betty Marie (Soule) Kiefer.
David graduated from Arthur Hill High School, class of 1981. He was united in marriage with Elizabeth Marie Asiala on September 3, 1988. He attended East Tennessee State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business management. A proud veteran, David served his country with honor in the United States Marine Corps for 12 years. David was an active and faithful member of Peace Lutheran Church. He participated in Via de Cristo, reflecting his dedication to his faith. David was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed camping, watching MASH, and doing puzzles.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Elizabeth Marie Kiefer, and their three children, Allison Kiefer, Emily (Robert Glover) Kiefer, and Joshua (Jasmine Rodriguez) Kiefer; two granddaughters, Bethany and Charlotte Kiefer; his parents, David Raymond Kiefer and Betty Marie Kiefer; and his sister, Tammy (Ed) Baudoux; his mother-in-law, Erva Asiala; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Carol Ann Asiala, Philip (Kamile) Asiala, and Sara (Sanford Buchalter) Asiala; and many nieces and nephews.
David was predeceased by his father-in-law, Charles Asiala.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 18, 2024, at Peace Lutheran Church, 3427 Adams Ave, Saginaw, MI 48602, where friends may visit with the family from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service. Pastor Erik Schmidt will officiate the service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider Mission 22 or any organization to help veterans.
