Cereske, David P. Saginaw, Michigan Passed away peacefully Saturday, December 20, 2014 at Covenant-Cooper at the age of 67 years. The Lord has called David home, thankful for his many blessings and relieved of his earthly pain and suffering. He was born August 14, 1947 in Benton Harbor, moving to Saginaw as a child with his family. He served with the U. S. Army Reserve 357th MP Company. He had been employed by Eaton Corporation for 30 years. He married Diane Friebe in 1968 and she survives him. David was a member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church and enjoyed attending sporting events at Michigan Lutheran Seminary. He also enjoyed watching Company C Softball Team at Hoyt Park. His father, Alfred Cereske, Sr., predeceased him. Surviving besides his wife Diane are his mother, Frances Cereske; his brother Al (Sue) Cereske; 17 nieces and nephews; many of the world's best grand-nieces and grand-nephews; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Betty and Walter Friebe; his sister-in-law, Marilyn Willis; two aunts, Agnes Cereske and Gertrude Gridley, and his best buddy, Brandi. He was predeceased by two sisters, Fran Popp and Mary Hoerger. Dave's family would like to express their thanks to his Antique Warehouse family for their love and support. Also, thank you to the Neuro/Trauma ICU nursing staff at Covenant-Cooper for their kind and extraordinary care. Private memorial service will take place Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Rev. William Brassow will officiate. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider St. Paul Ev.
