David Symons

Symons, David Saginaw, MI and Delray Beach, FL. Passed away on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at the age of 79 years. The son of the late John W. and Helen (Church) Symons was born in 1936 in Saginaw. He graduated from Northwestern Military and Naval Academy in Geneva Wisconsin, and attended the University of Michigan where he was a member of Psi Upsilon Fraternity and graduated from Ferris State University. He owned and operated Symons Building Specialties, LLC which he founded over 50 years ago. David also served as President of Symons Bros & Co. He served as an Elder at Second Presbyterian Church and was chairman of the Building Committee. At Higgins Lake, David served on the boards of Lakeshore East and Lakeside Camp where he was a past president. He was a Saginaw Rotarian and a member of the Honest John Club and the National Ski Patrol. He enjoyed summers with the entire family at Higgins Lake and winters in Delray Beach, FL. David also enjoyed boating, hunting, tennis, playing and umpiring softball games. Most of all, he loved his family and spending time with them. Surviving is his wife of 56 years, Carol Radke, and their children: Scott (Clara), Rick (Lisa), Janet (Terry), grandchildren: Stephanie, Maggie, Chris, Eric, Michael, Ryan, Grant, sister: Josephine Lee and many relatives and dear friends. David was predeceased by his sister Helen deGeus and brother John Symons. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 7, 2016 at Second Presbyterian Church, 2665 Midland Rd. Saginaw. Rev. James Neumann will officiate with burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. from 3:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday and then at the Church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service.
