David T. "Cookie" Guettler

Guettler, David T. "Cookie" Hemlock, MI Our dear son, brother, brother-in-law, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend who was loved beyond words went home to the loving arms of his Lord on Monday, February 16, 2015. David Thomas Guettler was a gift to Tom and Annette (Brown) Guettler and big brother Benjamin on March 6, 1992. Anyone that knew him knew that his life was his family, his friends, and anything with wheels. He had dreams of once again having "Guettler Farms" like his grandpa. David tried his hand at college, but he just wanted to drive truck like his dad. He went to truck driving school and began working for C & J's in Hemlock. He worked at Bareman's Milk Co., GFS and Central Michigan Propane (Thank you Uncle Ray), but went back to C & J's where he got to drive that Big Truck he always dreamed of driving (Thank you Buddy for giving him his dream). David loved to go hunting with his dad and spend time in the garage with him. He loved his mom's homemade cookies, that is how he got his nickname "Cookie" because he always had them in his lunch. His big brother meant everything to David, he did everything he could to make Ben proud. He was excited to gain a sister and be part of Ben and Michelle's wedding last fall. David left a little piece of his heart with many people, but when Brittney Suppes and her son Tucker came along, she got the whole thing. Together they were excited to be awaiting the birth of their child in August. David always wanted to be a daddy. He gave love to every child in his life, especially Tucker who he treated as his own. David was happiest when he was playing in the mud, helping someone who needed him or wrenching on a tractor (right, Mark?). If you were in need all you had to do was call and he would come running. He loved to use his trailer (really his dad's) to haul anything. There wasn't a person he met that didn't love him. He frustrated everyone because of his independence, but we were proud of who he was. Left to cherish his many memories are his parents, Tom and Annette, brother and sister-in-law: Benjamin and Michelle, David's love, Brittney Suppes and her son Tucker, grandparents Carolyn and Irving Brown and Doris Guettler, aunts and uncles: Stanley (Kim) Brown, Daniel (Shirley) Brown, Barb (Larry) Taylor, John (Maxine) Guettler, Caroline Foster, his cousins: Mike and Jessica, Laura, Joshua, Brandon, Jacob, Katie, Stacey and Nathan, Tiffany and Rebecca, Amy, Ryleigh, also special family: Uncle Dale Krause, Aunt Donna Rohn, Ashley and Brenda, his second mom Audrey and many special friends who called him brother, especially Jordan Modlin. David was predeceased by his grandpa Melvin Guettler, uncles Del Foster and Jack Novak and his great-grandparents. Funeral service will take place at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 22, 2015 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 10010 E. Monroe St., Wheeler, MI. Rev. Larry A. Warsinski will officiate with burial at Lakefield Township Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at the W. L. Case and company Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Rd. on Saturday from 12:00 noon until 8:00 p.m. and at church on Sunday from 12:00 noon until the time of the funeral service.
