Deloris A. Morse

Deloris A. Morse of Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 23, 2020, at Masonic Pathways of Alma. She was 83 years old. Deloris A. Recker was born on November 13, 1936, in Shepherd, Michigan, to the late Joseph and late Caroline (Bush) Recker. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart Catholic High School in Mt. Pleasant. Following graduation, Deloris attended and graduated from Saginaw General School of Nursing, where she remained a registered nurse for 35 years. She married the love of her life, Richard F. Morse on August 15, 1959, at Faith Ev. Lutheran Church in Saginaw; he preceded her in death on May 10, 2013. As a young mother, Deloris was actively involved in the many activities, groups, events, and sports her children participated in school; even doing the same for her grandchildren. She created many beautiful quilts and various other needlework crafts because she was so creative and talented in quilting and sewing. She enjoyed camping, gardening, going to the casino, and baking, especially making Christmas cookies. Above all, Deloris loved spending time upstate at her cottage in Harrison with her husband, children, and grandchildren. She will forever be remembered for her patience and unwavering spirit, as well as for her ability to communicate and connect with people.

Surviving are two daughters and two sons: Janet (Daniel) Straley of Midland; Steve (Shari) Morse of Saginaw; Michael (Kelly) Morse of Hemlock; Beverly (Martin) Lee of Saginaw; nine grandchildren: Caitlyn Straley; Haley Morse; Joshua (Melinda) Morse; Adam Morse and his fiance, Samantha Luckett; Andrew (Casey) Morse; Dr. Eric Lee, M.D.; Ryan Lee; Megan Lee; Jenna Lee; five great-grandchildren with one on the way: Easton, Parker, Rylee, Chloe, Kaylan; brother-in-law, Robert (Mary Lou) Morse of FL; two sisters. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.

She was preceded in death by a brother.
