Demetrios (Jim) Metropoulos

Demetrios (Jim) George Metropoulos, Chicago, IL Passed away in his home on the afternoon of Monday May 23, 2016. Jim Metropoulos was born May 30, 1963 and raised in Saginaw, Michigan. He attended University of Michigan and later graduated from Stanford University Law School achieving the highest honor of Summa Cum Laude and Order of the Coif. Some of his articles were published in the Stanford Law Review and the Stanford Journal of International Law. He was an esteemed partner at Mayer Brown LLP (Corporate Lawyer). His hobbies included watercolor painting, playing tennis, and creative writing. He is survived by the "Love of his life" his wife Susan, Mother Penelope Metropoulos, sisters Effie (Richard Batch), Katherine Metropoulos, many beloved nieces and nephews and his canine sweethearts Penelope and Phoebe. He was pre deceased by his father George Konstantine who passed in October 2000. On Tuesday May 31, 2016 a visitation will be held at W. L Case and Company Funeral Home 4480 Mackinaw Road. Saginaw Michigan 48603 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral service will be on June 1, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 4970 Mackinaw Rd, Saginaw, Ml 48603. Father Timothy Cook will officiate with burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Saint Demetrious Greek Orthodox Church of Saginaw and Saint George Greek Orthodox Church of Chicago. * A future memorial service will be held in Chicago, and dates to be determined.
