Denise Marie Ennis

Beloved sister, aunt, cousin, and friend passed away peacefully with her family and friends by her side on Thursday, July 10, 2019, at Covenant HealthCare - Cooper. She was 60 years old. Denise Marie Ennis was born on February 27, 1959, in Shelby, Michigan, to the late Clifford Allen and Margaret Ann (Markel) Ennis. She was a 1977 graduate of Northport Public Schools. Following graduation, Denise attended Ferris State University for a little over two years. She then transferred to Central Michigan University receiving both her bachelors and masters degree in Education. Denise was employed as a teacher at the Millet Learning Center with the Saginaw ISD for over 30 years. As a young woman she enjoyed playing softball, especially with the leagues at the school. She also had a passion for reading, learning, and educating. Denise spent summers as a camp counselor at Camp Roy-El and was actively involved with the Special Olympics for many years. She was a remarkable teacher; dedicated to the success of all of her students, as well as to her staff family at the Millet Learning Center. Denise will forever be remembered for being loyal, loving, and her selflessness to anyone in need or help. Surviving are two sisters and one brother, Melinda Ennis of Herndon, VA; Phillip (Patricia) Ennis of Herndon, VA; Jana (Martin) Tousignant of Herndon, VA. Also surviving are many loved extended family and friends. Honoring Denises wishes cremation has taken place. A private family gathering will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Millet Learning Center.
