Dennis J. McKay

Loving husband, father, and grandfather passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at the age of 67 years. The son of the late Hector D. McKay was born on July 27, 1949 in Sault Ste. Marie, MI. He married Mary A. Patelski on May 20, 1978; she survives him. Dennis worked as an auto mechanic. He was a member of St. Francis De Sales Parish. Dennis enjoyed the outdoors- fishing, hunting, camping and bonfires with family and friends. He also enjoyed woodworking and cheering on the Detroit Sports teams especially the Tigers and Red Wings. Surviving besides his wife of 38 years, Mary, are their children: Amanda Adams, Kristie (Dennis) Wuerfel, Jim (Korey) McKay, grandchildren: Bobby and Reese Adams, Ethan, Andrew, and Colin Wuerfel, Taylor, Reid, and Seth McKay, his mother-in-law, Edna Patelski and many sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends including his close friends Doug and Sherry Johnson and his faithful dog, Gus. Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 12, 2016 at St. Francis de Sales Parish, St. Christopher Site, 3945 Williamson Rd. Fr. John Mancini O.S.F.S. will officiate. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday at the St. Christopher Site from 5:00-8:00 p.m. and on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral liturgy.
