Stark, Dennis Elton "Denny" Hemlock , Michigan Loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend, passed away on April 14, 2018 at Mid-Michigan Health in Midland. Age 93 years. He was born on February 23, 1925 in Kochville Township, Michigan to the late Otto and Lottie (Plowdrey) Stark. Denny attended Arthur Hill High School before joining the Army to serve his country in Germany during W.W.lI. Returning from the war, he worked in the family businesses, both farming and Stark Block and Tile. He married the love of his life Hilda Clara Violet Kreger on May 10, 1947. His wife of 70 years survives him. Denny was an avid square dancer, had an eye for antiques, attended hundreds of auctions, and was a great animal lover. Denny and Hilda loved vacationing and camping, traveling to various states in their motor home with their faithful dogs. He was a skilled gardener, and was especially proud of his gladiolas that he grew and shared with others. Denny played the bass at social events and enjoyed time with friends. He attended Christ Lutheran Church and later moved to St. Peters Lutheran Church where he was an active member and passionate in his faith. He was kind, courageous, and a friend to everyone he met. He will be greatly missed. Surviving in addition to his wife, Hilda, are his children Larry (Mary Jo) Stark, Barbara (Don) Marcy, and David (Michelle) Stark. His grandchildren Scott Stark, Aimee Farlow, Aaron Stark Sr, Sarah Jo (Jacob) Rowley, Larry "Dennis"Stark, and Kevin (Megan) Stark, Joshua Roy and Courtney Gustin; several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Doris Stark, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his mother and father, brothers Russell, Ervin, and Dale Stark, and his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Mildred and Wilbur Winebar. The funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 21, 2018, At St. Peter Lutheran Church, 2461 N. Raucholz Rd. Hemlock. Rev. Dr. William L. Morris will officiate with Military burial in Richland Lutheran Cemetery under the auspices of the Hemlock- Merrill V.F.W. Post #7302. Dennys family will receive friends at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 125 E. Saginaw Street, Merrill, from 2:00-7:00 p.m. Friday April 20, 2018, and then at the Church on Saturday from Noon until the time of the funeral service.
