Donald H. Zuzula Saginaw, Michigan Passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2013, at St. Mary's of Michigan. Age 77 years. Donald was born June 30, 1935, the son of the late Steven and Mary (Pausz) Zuzula, in Saginaw, Michigan. He married Janice Kay Harris, November 19, 1956. She survives him. He retired from Saginaw Steering Gear Plant #2, as a Skilled Trade Machine Repairman, retiring with 30 years of service. He was a member of U.A. W. Local 699. He was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, the Nights of Columbus, 4th Degree Council 2049 and a honorary member of the Knights of Columbus Council #8808. Donald served with the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1956 and was a proud member of the Army Occupation of Austria and finished his tour of duty in Italy, the Army Reserve from 1956-1963 and the Michigan National Guard from 1963 thru1965. He was a member of the Hemlock-Merrill V.F.W. Post 7302, the Korean War Veterans Association Chapter 251, a member of the American Legion Post 0314. Donald coached Little League Baseball in the Spaulding Little League for 7 years. He was an avid football fan, enjoyed camping, yard work, photography and sports cards, but most of all his grandchildren. Surviving besides wife, Janice, are three children, Daniel (Nancy) Zuzula; John (Heather) Zuzula; Deedee Zuzula and Cameron Zuzula; a daughter-in-law, Kim Zuzula; eight grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Marge and Pat Zuzula; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Steven Zuzula, and four brothers and a sister. The funeral liturgy will take place at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 15, 2013, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Rev. David Parsch will officiate with Military burial in St. Andrew Cemetery under the auspices of the Hemlock-Merrill V.F.W. Post 7302. Friends may call at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Rd. from 2:00-8:00 p.m. Friday where the Knights of Columbus Council #8808 will pray the Rosary at 6:00 p.m. The Parish vigil service will take place at 7:00 p.m. Friends may then call at the Church from 9:00 a.m. Saturday until the time of the funeral liturgy.
