Donald Otto Tessin

Donald Otto Tessin Hemlock, Michigan Passed away on Monday, March 26, 2018, at the age of 84 years. Donald was born July 25, 1933, in Richland Twp., Michigan to the late John and Freida (Bork) Tessin. He was confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Hemlock. He married Shirley Marie Kreger on August 15, 1953; she survives him. His profession and passion was farming. He farmed all of his life on the family farm. He also drilled Water Wells and worked for A.T. Ferrow. Donald enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be missed by his wife of 64 years, Shirley; children, Karen (Jim) Gardner, Betty Lou (Robert) Rood, and Donna Barczak; grandchildren, John (Carrie) Gardner, Brandon (Amie) Rood, Stephanie (Ryan) Cauley, Melissa Barczak, Alicia (Traver) Griffin, Matthew (Jennifer) Barczak; great-grandchildren, Anna Gardner, Ayden Rood, Alexa Griffin, Trinity Griffin, Hazel Barczak, Isaac Barczak; and siblings-in-law, Violet (Dan) Zabel, Janet (John) Pruitt, Donald (Jean) Hollingsworth, Barbara (Robert) Watson, Mary Lou Klemit. He was predeceased by his daughter, Cathy Tessin; granddaughter, Tracy Gardner; parents-in-law, Gilbert and Elda Hollingsworth and Erwin Kreger; and siblings and in-laws, Erich and Edna Tessin and Herta and Emil Heoppner. Funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 31, 2018, at Zion Lutheran Church 17927 Dice Rd. Rev. Paul Hauser will officiate with burial in Richland Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at W.L. Case & Company 201 N. Miller Rd. and again at church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter Lutheran School or to Zion Lutheran Church of Hemlock.
